Beauty and the Beast

In English we have been looking at the story of Beauty and the Beast. We wrote diary entries in the role of the Merchant. To help us get into the character of the Merchant we used a range of drama techniques such as hot seating, freeze frames and through the curtain. This helped us to understand what the Merchant saw, heard, smelt and how he felt when the Beast caught him stealing the beautiful rose from his garden.

Growing French Beans

This term we planted French bean seeds and watched them germinate, become seedlings, lose their cotyledon and grow very tall and strong with many leaves. They were then ready to be planted in our gardens or a larger pot!

Platinum Jubilee

To kick off the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations we held a very Royal Scoot to School breakfast. Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 were invited with an amazing attendance of 149 children in total. How amazing! Children took part in a competition where they had to decorate their scooter or bike for the jubilee. The School Council then had an important job to choose a 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners for each class. It was a very exciting morning and we enjoyed eating our cereal, fruit, cereal bars and a sweet cake as a treat.
