Summer 2

Jubilee Celebrations

We hope you had a lovely half term holiday and enjoyed all the celebrations for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. At Cardinal Road we had a great time celebrating and did so many different things. We were very lucky to have a visit from 'The Spotted Cats' a jazz band who taught us about their instruments and played some amazing pieces of music including Basin Street Blues and When the Saints go Marchin' in. Then we had a crown competition. What amazing crowns there were! Did you come to our parade? We learnt a dance and some songs to perform after our crown parade. Finally we ended the week with a lovely picnic; we loved making the sandwiches and had some lovely treats.

Bug Hotels

We have been learning about habitats in science. We have been searching the school for different minibeasts and learning about their preferred habitat. Then we made bug hotels in DT.

Once we had finished we left them in the playground for the bugs to move into. We love exploring our hotel on the hunt for bugs.

Nurturing Nurses

Our topic this term is Nurturing Nurses! We our learning about two famous nurses from history - Mary Seacole and Florence Nightingale.
