"When he first started at Cardinal Road, he ran his words together and couldn't say many of the letter sounds.  He is now separating words and his letter sounds are correct .  He can look at any word and sound it out correctly.  He was also dropping letters at the end of words and now he says the full word.  The improvement in his speaking has been incredible.  The change in S's confidence is significant.  I think this was the most amazing part to watch grow over the year.  He wouldn't talk to people and was happier playing by himself than with other kids.  He would withdraw from conversations if people didn't understand him immediately.  Now, he is willing to try and listens to people as they ask him to repeat or correct his speech.  He will speak in front of  his class now and he also answers questions in class.  He asks other kids to play with him as well as joining in.  He is comfortable with who  he is and doesn't let his speech get in his way anymore."  Parent of a child who attended the Early Years Speech Group 2016-2017.
