I am Mrs Hearth and I am looking forward to starting my second year in Nursery. I will be teaching on Mondays, Tuesdays and every other Wednesday, as I will spend the rest of my week at home with my daughter. If you have older children you might recognise me from Year 1 in previous years! The Nursery is a wonderful place with fantastically creative children at the heart of the learning. It is a extremely supportive and enriching environment and the children are a delight to spend the day with. The progress the children are making is astonishing and we are so proud of all they achieve.
As well as being a teacher in Nursery I am also the Science Subject leader, which is a subject close to my heart. I qualified as a teacher a long time ago at the Institute of Education and afterwards gained a Postgraduate Diploma in Science Education. More recently I have gained an MSc with Distinction from the University of Southampton in Education Policy and Practice and I love using all I have learnt about excellent teaching and learning in the real world at Cardinal Road.
When I’m not teaching I enjoy hiking with my husband and my dog, and now with our baby. I am also a keen gardener, as you may be able to tell from our new garden at the front of the Nursery. Do let me know if you would like to help us with our garden or if you have any spare seeds or cuttings!
I look forward to seeing you as the term progresses.
