A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our Maths Morning this morning. It was a wonderful way to finish our half term, and the children really enjoyed showing off all their new Maths skills. Many were very pleased to beat their parents! Don't forget to sign up for a rematch in Summer 2.
Scoot to School
We had a great turn out for our Scoot to School breakfast, where the children rode or walked to school for a delicious healthy breakfast with their teachers. Next week is our Walk to School week - we'll be giving out sunflower seeds for you to plant wherever you think the route to school could be made a bit prettier. Make sure you don't plant them in someone else's garden! Happy trails!
In Orange Class we have been growing onion bulbs ready to plant in our garden. Look at how much they have grown!
Our visit to Baitul Wahid Mosque
Planting seeds and bulbs
Now that spring has sprung Year 1 have been planting different seeds and bulbs in the garden. They are starting to germinate in the warmer, sunnier weather and we are really excited to see our plants grow really tall. Can you guess what we have planted?
We have been using our subtraction skills and our ability to use coins to start to make change. It will really help us if we are allowed to help you pay for shopping when you go to the shops.
Globes and Atlases!
We will start to learn all about the UK next term, and so we had a quick explore of World maps and the globe. We had great fun finding our home countries, countries we have been to on holiday and the United Kingdom. Can you find them at home?
Orange Class have been looking for signs of spring!
Year 1 have started to investigate division. We know that it is the equal sharing of objects between groups. We look forward to moving on to tricky word problems!
Our Thursday morning reading mornings have restarted with great success. Thank you so much to everyone who came along, the children love it and it's great to see so many of you supporting us. See you next week!
We have been putting our ability to count in groups of 2s, 5s and 10s to good use to solve multiplication problems! We know that multiplying by 2 is called doubling.
