We had a visit from a Ghanaian artist who talked to us about traditional clothes, music and art. We printed our own Kente cloth using repeating patterns and symbols which each had a different meaning
We had a visit from a Judo Commonwealth Champion who has opened a Judo club in our community. She talked about the importance of showing respect and told us to aim high and never give up on our dreams.
Year 2 organised a coffee morning to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. We baked cakes, wrote invitations, took the money and gave change. It was a wonderful real life experience and we were so grateful to our school community for their generous donations. We also developed our emotional literacy by talking about how we would feel if someone we love was sick and needed help.
Our parents came in to school on Wednesday 26th September 2018. Year 2 shared maths games with one another and our parents. Thank you very much parents for your support and letting us show of our amazing maths skills!!
Our first topic this year is called Fit for Life. To launch this and our learning Purple, Gold and Silver class held a mini Olympics! We even had a reward ceremony.
Our Aim and Value for this half term is to Be Kind. To celebrate this year 2 have made Kindness Kites. How could you be kind to one another?
