Macmillan Coffee Morning
Curriculum Driver: Community, Real Life Experiences, Emotional Literacy
Year 2 hosted a successful coffee morning to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. We discussed how we would feel if someone who is important to us was not well and talked about how we could help. The children baked cakes and cookies, made posters and wrote invitations to parents, carers and other members of the school community. Some children came into the hall to sell the treats they had made and generously donated treats from their families. We raised an amazing £265.17 for this amazing charity! Thank you for all of your help and generosity, we couldn't have done it without you!
Black History Week
Curriculum Driver: Real Life Experiences
Martin, who is from Ghana visited our school to show us how to play a beat on a Djembe drum. We found Ghana on a world map and learnt that it is a country that is part of the continent, Africa. Other members of our school community (staff and parents) shared their own photos and stories about Ghana.
